2Pi-Jobs is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.

The Scholarships Specialist is responsible for leading and managing a team who deliver a high standard of scholarship activities across all phases of the scholarship cycle.

This is a short-term adviser position of up to 6 months in duration with the possibility of extension. The Specialist will be engaged full-time for the duration of the contract, and be based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea for at least the majority of the contract term.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver Australia Awards and PNG scholarships as per policies and annual plans.
Manage promotions, applications, assessment and fair selection processes.
Coordinate pre‑departure support and on award enrichment for scholar mobilisation & engagement.
Monitor and approve award variations and maintain accurate DFAT scholarship records.
Maintain scholarships budget, monthly forecasting and regular financial reporting.
Contribute to communications, GEDSI championing, continuous improvement and safe workplace.

Other Educational Qualification

Postgraduate qualification in education, HRD, international development or business or other related field.

Skills

Senior experience (10+ years desirable) in international education, admissions or scholarship management.
Proven budgeting, financial planning and expenditure monitoring skills.
Strategic leadership and staff support for service delivery and meeting deliverables.
Experience with Australia Awards and cross‑cultural stakeholder engagement.
Demonstrated adaptability, innovation and resilience in complex environments (PNG/Pacific preferred).
