Job Responsibilities
Supports the Protection Officer (CBP & PM) in the implementation of Community based protection and protection monitoring activities.
Support community engagement efforts, including outreach, awareness sessions, and communication on DRC’s community-based protection and protection monitoring programming.
Facilitate the operation of protection/help desks in alignment with DRC Sudan protection desk SOPs.
Conduct safe and timely referrals within DRC and externally to service providers, maintaining updated referral pathways in collaboration with the CBP & PM Officer.
Collaborate with community-based structures to identify and address protection concerns, facilitating group dialogues and mentoring community stakeholders.
Implement of protection monitoring activities such as data collection using KOBO Toolbox through FGDs, KIIs, observations, and incident recording.
Facilitate information dissemination, awareness-raising, and capacity-building activities with communities regarding protection risks, rights, and available services.
Assist in building the capacities of community structures and stakeholders in community-based protection and protection monitoring.
Ensures timely reporting of project activities, including ensuring all activities are accurately documented on DRC Sudan’s IM database in coordination with the Protection Information Management Officers
Conduct MEAL activities, including CBP and PM related activities.
Supports the Protection Officer (CBP & PM) in any administrative issues relating to the project activities
Adheres to DRC Sudan’s CoC including PSEAH policies and practices.
Any other duties, as directed by Protection Manager
Educational Qualification
Bachelor degree in any discipline
Other Educational Qualification
Bachelor/ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field
Skills
At least 2 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings in a protection position; experience working on community-based protection and protection monitoring would be an advantage.
Experience supporting on the facilitation of community awareness sessions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times.
Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
