• Design and layout FSNAU's technical publications, including Technical Series Reports, Monthly and Quarterly Briefs and Updates, and Press Releases.
• Design and layout all other FSNAU information products, such as posters, calendars, brochures, business cards, invitations and signs, as required.
• Perform and manage regular and special website content uploads in consultation with the CMS tools.
• Participate actively in the review of all FSNAU information products and advise on improvements to design and layout, generating new design and layout ideas using computer software, being innovative to meet the constraints of cost and time.
• Apply a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided design to design and produce layout communications products up to output stage and supervise in collaboration with the Data Systems Team with the printing unit.
• Develop and maintain a visuals resource facility for easy retrieval of imagery and graphics.
• Schedule production of jobs in consultation with the managers and the CTA.
• Day to day management and supervision of the FSNAU Publications Assistant and conduct periodic performance evaluations.
• Ensure the format, quality of graphics and layout of publications meet approved standards of FSNAU's and FAO information products.
• Maintain a unified style in all FSNAU’s graphic output in conformity with the approved graphic standards.
• Review and approve in-house and commissioned publications, periodicals, letterheads etc., for graphic style and adherence to Graphic Standards.
• Produce and update FSNAU Graphic Standards manual according to the needs of the FSNAU regarding design style and technical relevance.
• Assist in the design of exhibition display material to meet communication objectives.
• Manage the publications unit production programs in conjunction with technical managers and Data systems team, develop budget for electronic publishing, hardcopy print, and recommend FSNAU equipment and software upgrades.
• Responsible for maintaining a comprehensive electronic archive of all work produced.
• Design and layout of templates, publications and visual materials by various units of FAO Somalia.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Advance University degree in Design/Publications, or a related field is required., or other relevant discipline from a reputable institution.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in publication and design.
• Proficiency in the use of Design and Publication software.
• Working knowledge (level C) of English and Somali.
• National of Somalia.
