Job Description

Test Engineer

Location: Remote or On‑site (Specify city, state)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications.
  • Identify, record, and track defects using a bug‑tracking system; work closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Automate regression tests using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Perform performance, load, and stress testing to validate system scalability.
  • Maintain and improve testing frameworks and continuous integration pipelines.
  • Provide clear and concise test reports and metrics to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in software testing (manual and automated).
  • Proficiency with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright) and scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and version control (Git).
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for quality.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured).
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Certification such as ISTQB or CSTE.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional specifications and requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using the designated bug‑tracking system, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform regression testing to verify that fixes and new features do not introduce new issues.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to clarify requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Analyze test results, generate detailed test reports, and provide actionable insights to improve product quality.
  • Maintain and update automated test frameworks and scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand‑up meetings, and retrospectives to contribute to continuous improvement of the development process.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality guidelines throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior testers and share best practices for testing methodologies and tools.

Salary

  • BDT: 15000 - 20000 (Monthly)

Additional Salary Info

Base Salary: $70,000 per year

Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary, awarded annually based on KPIs

Commission: 5% on sales exceeding quota, paid quarterly

Overtime: Paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for any hours worked beyond 40 per week

Benefits Package: Health, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off (PTO) and holidays

Signing Bonus: $5,000, payable within the first month of employment

Relocation Assistance: Up to $3,000 for eligible candidates
