Test Engineer

Location: Remote or On‑site (Specify city, state)

Employment Type: Full‑time

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications.
Identify, record, and track defects using a bug‑tracking system; work closely with developers to resolve issues.
Automate regression tests using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
Perform performance, load, and stress testing to validate system scalability.
Maintain and improve testing frameworks and continuous integration pipelines.
Provide clear and concise test reports and metrics to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
2+ years of experience in software testing (manual and automated).
Proficiency with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright) and scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and version control (Git).
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and a passion for quality.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured).
Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Certification such as ISTQB or CSTE.

Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional specifications and requirements.
Execute manual and automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
Identify, document, and track defects using the designated bug‑tracking system, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
Perform regression testing to verify that fixes and new features do not introduce new issues.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to clarify requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
Analyze test results, generate detailed test reports, and provide actionable insights to improve product quality.
Maintain and update automated test frameworks and scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
Participate in sprint planning, stand‑up meetings, and retrospectives to contribute to continuous improvement of the development process.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality guidelines throughout the testing lifecycle.
Mentor junior testers and share best practices for testing methodologies and tools.

Salary

BDT: 15000 - 20000 (Monthly)

Additional Salary Info

Base Salary: $70,000 per year

Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary, awarded annually based on KPIs

Commission: 5% on sales exceeding quota, paid quarterly

Overtime: Paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for any hours worked beyond 40 per week

Benefits Package: Health, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off (PTO) and holidays

Signing Bonus: $5,000, payable within the first month of employment

Relocation Assistance: Up to $3,000 for eligible candidates
