2Pi-Jobs is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Ukraine and the National Protection Officer, and with the direct supervision of the National Protection Officer (Prevention & Outreach), the incumbent will assist in the implementation of the Prevention and Outreach portfolio of the Protection Programme as well as assist with other protection activities in Ukraine.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of outreach and community-based prevention activities aimed at reducing protection risks, including human trafficking, gender-based violence (GBV), exploitation, abuse, and other forms of harm, in line with approved workplans.
  • Assist with outreach activities involving activists and practitioners, including sharing practical information on outreach approaches, ethical community engagement, using of prevention tools, protection mainstreaming and safe referral of potential beneficiaries. 
  • Maintain regular communication with implementing partners, civil society organizations, and community-based groups to support outreach activities and implementation of small-scale community initiatives.
  • Assist with prevention efforts of the NGO implementing partners at the oblast/area level, including tracking small-grant, following up on  basic compliance requirements, maintaining project records and interim and financial reports.
  • Assist in the adaptation and application of outreach and community engagement tools, including facilitation guides, training materials, board games, digital recources and prevention tools. 
  • Provide administrative support related to outreach activities, including prepararing procurement requests, logistical arrangements for events and trainings, and supporting the distribution of visibility and printed materials.
  • Assist with monitoring outreach activities, including collecting feedback from the field, supporting the organization of focus group discussions and providing inputs for improvement of outreach activities. 
  • Support the logistical organization of outreach and capacity-building activities, including community sessions, peer-to-peer initiatives, workshops, mentoring meetings, camps, conferences, seminars, and roundtables.
  • Undertake duty travel as required and assist with other outreach- and community engagement-related duties as may be assigned.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Other Educational Qualification

  • High school diploma with five years of professional work experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, Education, Law and International Relations or related field.

Skills

  • Experience supporting outreach and communication activities.
  • Experience in the thematic area of protection, including countering human trafficking, exploitation, and gender-based violence, and especially in the prevention/ awareness raising pillar. 
  • Experience in liaising and cooperating with governmental authorities, UN partners and NGOs, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Experience working in humanitarian and/or emergency response and post-conflict environments, particularly related to internal displacement and mixed migration. 
  • Previous work experience in IOM or a UN agency is preferable.
  • Ability to assist in outreach and community engagement activities.
  • Ability to collect and compile qualitative information to support programme activities. 
  • Good communication and writing skills, including basic presentation skills. 
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially with graphic design software and social media tools.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
